Talk show icon Oprah Winfrey has revealed her tactic for dealing with harsh critics - she simply doesn’t read negative reviews.
The American billionaire is currently making her way through Australia on her highly-publicised multi-city speaking tour and kicked proceeding off in Melbourne on Wednesday evening.
However, early reviews of the one-woman show have been mixed, with some reviewers claiming the 61-year-old was simply dispensing ‘a mixture of mumbo jumbo psychobabble clichés’ to the 12,000 strong crowd.
The media legend added: ‘I might just read them on the way home on the plane — they won’t change anything I do on the tour, not a thing.’
As for any claims that the debut show in Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena had not gone as planned, Oprah rebutted: ‘I loved how it went. I looked down at the people at the front and they were barely breathing because they were so rapt, so engaged. It was a wonderful experience.’
