Crystal Palace new boy Emmanuel Adebayor has confirmed his delight at signing for the club and believes his workout routines, which he showed off on social media, have done the job in keeping himself in tip-top condition. The 31-year-old moved to Selhurst Park on a free transfer and has signed a deal until the end of the season, which can be extended if he impresses.

Following his unveiling, Adebayor spoke to the club's official website and said he's looking forward to playing in England again after spending his most of his time in Africa.'Everyone that knows Adebayor will know whether it's a hard moment or good moment, he's always laughing. Let me laugh, let me enjoy myself and hopefully I can bring that into the dressing room and the team will follow, and we will get where we want to get to,' he said.
It's not just Palace fans that the 31-year-old has to impress. Adebayor has hero status in his native Togo and whatever team he plays for they support him.
He admits it was difficult for the nation to see their talisman not playing football but is looking forward to kick starting his career at Selhurst Park.
'Hopefully I can bring more experience to Palace and achieve what they want to achieve.'
The striker has a somewhat tainted reputation and was forced to train with the Under-21 squad while at Tottenham before refusing to leave the club unless they paid him the £5million they owed him from his contract.
But despite this, Adebayor believes that he can be a positive influence in the dressing room, provided he's allowed to enjoy himself.
'I think you can see on my social media that I have been working out every day.
'I played a lot of games in Africa. Don't get me wrong, they're not the same level, but I played as if I am playing in the Premier League. Maybe next week we will all know where I am but I had a good discussion with the manager (Alan Pardew) and we'll know where my fitness level is at.'
